In plain language: some of the hardware and product links on this site earn us a small commission if you buy something after clicking, at no extra cost to you.

Programs we participate in

  • Amazon Associates (amazon.com and, where noted, amazon.de once approved), as an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
  • Best Buy and Walmart affiliate programs, where applied and approved, primarily used on game pre-order and console purchase pages.

Some of these programs are still pending approval. Until a program is approved, links to that retailer go to a plain, untracked search or product page, see our Methodology page for how this degrades gracefully rather than showing a broken or fake link.

As of September 2026, "Newegg," "B&H," and "GameStop" buttons on this site are plain, untracked links, not affiliate links. Our access to those programs (all run through Rakuten Advertising) was terminated, and we haven't rebuilt that relationship yet. We'll update this page the moment that changes.

How these links are marked

Every affiliate link on this site opens in a new tab and carries a rel="sponsored" attribute, per Google's and the FTC's guidance on marking paid or commissioned links. Currently that applies to "Amazon," "Best Buy," "Walmart," or "Check price" buttons pointing to a retailer, whichever programs are approved for that page. "Newegg," "B&H," and "GameStop" buttons are plain, untracked links for now, see above.

Does this affect our recommendations?

No. A component's Minimum, Recommended, or Enthusiast placement is derived entirely from the ReadyScore™ methodology, not from which retailer pays the highest commission. We link to the same specific product (a given GPU model, a given console SKU) regardless of which retailer's program happens to be approved at the time; when several retailers are approved for the same product, we show all of them rather than picking the highest-paying one.

Advertising

Some pages also carry display ads (Google AdSense, once connected and once you've accepted cookies). Ad placement and content is handled by Google's automated systems, not by us directly, and doesn't influence editorial content either.
