What this site does with your data

The PC checker calculates your result in your browser from the graphics card, processor, RAM and storage you select. We do not run visitor accounts and we do not operate our own database of visitors. If you accept cookies, usage events from your visit are sent to Google Analytics, and these can include the hardware models you selected (for example "RTX 4070"), see Analytics below. We do not sell visitor data.

Hosting and server logs

This site is delivered by our hosting provider, Netlify. To deliver a page, the hosting infrastructure processes technical request data such as your IP address, browser type and the requested URL, and it may keep server logs for security and operation. This happens regardless of your cookie choice. The fonts used on this site are served from our own domain, so your browser does not contact Google to load them.

Local storage and cookies

This site stores two things in your browser's local storage: your cookie choice and the hardware setup you last checked, so you do not have to select it again. These are not sent to us by the storage itself. You can remove the saved setup with the "Not you? Clear" link next to the checker, or by clearing this site's local storage in your browser settings.

Cookies from Google Analytics are set only after you accept them. Without your acceptance, the Google Analytics script is not loaded. Advertising is currently switched off, see Advertising below.

Cookie settings

You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page. Choosing "Reject" there withdraws your consent: from then on the Google Analytics script (and Google's advertising script, once ads are active) is not loaded on later page loads, and we delete the Google Analytics cookies of this site. Scripts that were already loaded on the page you are viewing are switched off as far as possible, and reloading the page ensures they are gone. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already took place before you withdrew it. Cookies that Google itself has set on its own domains can only be removed in your browser settings.

Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

If you accept cookies, we use Google Analytics 4, a service of Google, to understand how the site is used: which pages are viewed, which game checkers are started and completed, the resulting score band, the hardware models, RAM and storage type you selected, which product links are clicked, and which sharing buttons are used. This helps us improve the tools people use.

Google Analytics can process online identifiers and usage data, for example a cookie identifier, information about your browser and device, and approximate location derived from your connection. For visitors in the European Economic Area the service is provided by Google Ireland Limited, and Google may process data in other countries. We do not send names or email addresses to Google Analytics. We cannot verify what Google does with the data it receives beyond the settings we control, so please also read Google's Privacy Policy. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw as described under Cookie settings.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

We have a Google AdSense account and may activate ads on this site later. Ads are currently switched off: no ads are shown and Google's advertising script is not loaded, whatever your cookie choice. Before ads are switched on we will set up a Google-certified consent management platform (CMP), update the consent choice accordingly and update this page. Once ads are active, Google and its partners may use cookies and similar identifiers to serve and measure ads, and to personalize them based on your visits to this or other sites, and Google's script would load only after you consent to advertising. You can manage personalized advertising in Google's Ads Settings or at aboutads.info.

Affiliate links carry a tracking parameter (like ?tag= or ?fpr=) so the retailer can credit the referral to GameReadyCheck. What the retailer records after you click is governed by the retailer's own privacy policy.

Your rights (EU/EEA visitors)

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Most data described here is processed by Google, Netlify and our affiliate partners under their own privacy policies, and you can use their tools to exercise your rights with them. For anything you think we hold or can act on, use the contact details on the About page.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

If our advertising, analytics or affiliate setup changes in a way that affects what is collected, this page will be updated and the "last updated" date above will change accordingly.
