GTA 6 vs WARDOGS vs Fable: Which Needs the Biggest PC Upgrade?

Same hardware, five games, different scores. Here's exactly where a mid-range and a stronger PC land against each game's own Minimum and Recommended thresholds.

Sources: Fable, Gears of War: E-Day and WARDOGS use the official requirements published on Steam. GTA 6 and Metro 2039 are still our researched predictions (no official PC specs exist yet), so treat their scores as low confidence. See our Methodology for how each is sourced.

Same PC, different verdicts

We ran the same two builds through our ReadyScore™ formula against every game we track. The differences come entirely from each game's own Minimum and Recommended thresholds. Since the official Fable and Gears specs landed, the confirmed games have turned out to be the most forgiving, and Metro 2039's prediction the most demanding.

Build A: RTX 4060, Ryzen 5 7600, 16GB RAM, SSD
GameSpecsReadyScore™Verdict
Fableofficial84/100Playable
Gears of War: E-Dayofficial84/100Playable
WARDOGSofficial84/100Playable
GTA 6predicted84/100Playable
Metro 2039predicted59/100Not ready

Build A sits just under the RTX 3060 Ti that Steam lists as Recommended for Fable and Gears, so it lands one step short of Ready on those. Metro 2039's predicted minimum is a 3060 Ti or RX 6700 XT, which is why it is the one that fails outright.

Build B: RTX 4070, Ryzen 7 7700X, 16GB RAM, SSD
GameSpecsReadyScore™Verdict
Fableofficial100/100Ready
Gears of War: E-Dayofficial100/100Ready
WARDOGSofficial100/100Ready
GTA 6predicted100/100Ready
Metro 2039predicted84/100Playable

Four of five games hit Ready. Metro 2039 stays Playable because its predicted Recommended tier asks for an RTX 4070 Ti or RX 7900 GRE class GPU and 32GB of RAM, more than this build has on both counts.

What actually decides your upgrade

Two findings matter more than any single score. First, for the games with official specs, the jump from a mid-range card to an RTX 3060 Ti or RTX 4070 class GPU is the one that turns Playable into Ready, RAM and CPU were not the limit. Second, if Metro 2039 is on your list, both its GPU and RAM asks are the highest we track, but that is a prediction: we would not buy hardware for it until Deep Silver publishes real requirements.
