Editorial Policy
How content on this site gets written, labeled, and kept honest, separate from how the ReadyScore™ number itself is calculated (that's on the Methodology page).
Confirmed, Estimated, Unknown
Every factual claim on this site falls into one of three states, and we label which one applies rather than blending them:
- Confirmed: stated directly by the publisher, developer, or platform holder (a press release, an official store listing, an official blog post).
- Estimated: our own researched prediction, built from comparable titles, the developer's history, and console hardware specs, used only where no official information exists yet.
- Unknown: genuinely no public information and no confident basis for a prediction, we say so rather than guessing.
A prediction is never presented using the same language as a confirmed fact. When Rockstar, Microsoft, or any other publisher announces something official, the corresponding Estimated content is replaced the same day, see our Corrections Policy.
No fabricated data
We don't invent usage statistics, fake user counts, fabricated historical "changelogs," or hands-on test results for products we haven't actually tested. Hardware recommendation pages say explicitly when a pick is research-based rather than hands-on tested. If that changes for a specific product, the page will say so.
Bylines
Most pages carry a "Tested & researched by the GameReadyCheck Hardware Team" byline rather than an individual name, because most content here is data-driven and maintained collectively rather than authored as personal commentary. We don't attribute pages to a fictional individual author. Where an individual voice is appropriate for a pillar piece, it will be attributed to a real, named person.
Commerce and editorial independence
Product recommendations (which GPU, which console, which monitor) are decided by fit against a ReadyScore™ tier or a stated use case, not by which retailer's affiliate program happens to be approved or pays the highest commission. See our full Affiliate Disclosure.
Updates
Most content pages show a "Last updated" timestamp, generated automatically from when the page file itself last changed, not a manually-edited date that can go stale silently.
