Where to Buy GTA 6 on PC

No PC version exists to buy yet. When one does, here's where it'll most likely show up, and why you'll need the Rockstar Games Launcher either way.

Reminder: there is no PC release date, storefront listing, or pre-order for GTA 6 anywhere. Be skeptical of any site claiming otherwise. See our disclaimer.

The one constant: Rockstar Games Launcher

Regardless of which storefront you buy through, every recent Rockstar PC release has required linking a Rockstar Games Social Club account and installing the Rockstar Games Launcher, it handles activation, save sync, and GTA Online access. Buying on Steam doesn't skip this step; it just adds Steam as an extra layer on top.

If it does launch on multiple storefronts

Each option comes with genuine trade-offs beyond just "where you click buy":

  • Steam: the deepest feature set for PC players. Steam Cloud, Steam Deck compatibility ratings, a mature achievements/overlay system, and the largest secondary marketplace for trading cards and community content. Historically the option most PC players default to when available.
  • Epic Games Store: has offered timed exclusivity deals for major Rockstar and other AAA titles in exchange for guaranteed sales, sometimes bundled with a limited-time discount. If GTA 6 follows RDR2's pattern, an Epic-first window before a later Steam release is plausible.
  • Rockstar Games Launcher direct: occasionally offers Rockstar-exclusive bonuses (in-game currency, early access to GTA Online content) as an incentive to buy direct rather than through a third-party storefront, this happened with both GTA V and RDR2 at various points.

None of this changes what you're actually installing, the Rockstar Games Launcher runs underneath regardless of storefront, as covered above.

Should you wishlist it now?

Since there's no PC listing on any storefront, there's nothing to wishlist yet for GTA 6 specifically. The more useful move today is making sure your hardware will actually be ready when a listing does appear. Run your specs through the PC checker so an eventual announcement doesn't catch you needing a last-minute upgrade.
