Best Monitor for GTA 6
Works for both platforms this site covers: PC and console. A good gaming monitor and a good gaming TV need almost the same specs, the difference is what fits your room and your reflexes.

Tell us your platform and budget, we'll point you at the right pick from the models below.
Monitor or TV?
| Monitor | TV | |
|---|---|---|
| Input lag | Typically lower, even with Game Mode off | Low with ALLM/Game Mode on, higher without it |
| Screen size | 24โ34", desk distance | 42"+, couch distance |
| Refresh rate ceiling | Often 240Hz+ at 1440p | Usually tops out at 120โ165Hz |
| HDR quality | Improving, still usually behind flagship OLED TVs | Higher peak brightness and deeper contrast on OLED/Mini-LED flagship TVs |
| Best for | Desk setups, PC players, anyone prioritizing responsiveness | Living-room console setups, cinematic HDR |
If you already have a good gaming TV, see our TV guide instead. The specs below (HDMI 2.1, VRR, ALLM) matter identically on both.
What to look for, by platform
- Console (PS5/Xbox): HDMI 2.1, 4K at 120Hz, VRR, ALLM, identical requirements to the TV guide. A monitor gets you those specs at a lower price than an equivalent TV, just smaller.
- PC: the same HDMI 2.1/VRR checklist, plus check for G-Sync or FreeSync Premium compatibility matching your GPU, and consider 1440p at high refresh (165Hz+) over 4K if your card isn't in the RTX 4080/RX 7900 XTX tier. A game like GTA 6 will hit higher framerates at 1440p than 4K on the same hardware.
