The safest way to time a gaming PC purchase isn't chasing rumored sales, it's working backward from the games you actually want to play at launch. Here's the confirmed release calendar for what we track, and what that means for when to buy.

The generic seasonal patterns worth knowing
- Black Friday / Cyber Monday (late November): The most reliable annual window for GPU and prebuilt discounts, well-established across every major PC retailer.
- New GPU generation launches: Previous-generation cards (like the RTX 40-series once the 50-series was established) typically see price adjustments as retailers clear inventory, worth checking both generations rather than assuming newer is better value.
- Right before a big launch: Demand-driven price increases are a real risk in the final 1-2 weeks before a hugely anticipated release, buying a few weeks earlier can avoid that entirely.

Buying a few weeks ahead is sound advice, but check what you actually need first. Run your current PC through the GTA 6 checker: one upgrade may be enough, and if more than one major part is short, a complete PC is the simpler route. Rockstar has not published official GTA 6 PC requirements. These recommendations use GameReadyCheck's predicted Minimum and Recommended tiers and therefore have low confidence.
