What we don't collect

We don't run visitor accounts, and the PC checker tool on this site never leaves your browser, the GPU/CPU/RAM/storage you select is processed locally in JavaScript and is never sent to us or to any server. We don't sell personal data, and we never have.

Local storage

This site uses your browser's local storage (not a server database, and never transmitted to us) for two things: your cookie consent choice, and, if you use "Save My Setup," the GPU/CPU/RAM/storage you last checked, so you don't have to re-select it on your next visit. Both stay entirely on your device. You can clear the saved setup any time with the "Not you? Clear" link next to the checker, or by clearing this site's local storage in your browser settings.

Cookies & advertising

If you accept cookies via the banner on this site, we and third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, or generally at aboutads.info. If you reject cookies, no advertising cookies are set and you'll see an unpersonalized placeholder instead of an ad unit.

Accepting cookies also loads Rakuten Advertising's tracking script, used to attribute purchases made through our B&H Photo Video links to this site. It only activates on pages you visit after accepting, and does nothing if you reject.

Affiliate disclosure

GameReadyCheck participates in the Amazon Associates Program, the Newegg affiliate program, and the B&H Photo Video affiliate program. These are affiliate advertising programs designed to let sites earn commission fees by linking to partner stores. If you click one of our hardware links and make a qualifying purchase, we may earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you. This never affects which products we mention; recommendations are based on predicted hardware requirements, not on which link pays more.

Affiliate links carry a tracking parameter (like ?tag= or &subid=) so the retailer's own system can credit the referral. This parameter does not identify you personally, it identifies GameReadyCheck as the referring site.

Analytics

If and when we add an analytics tool (for example to see which pages are read), this policy will be updated first, and, where analytics relies on non-essential cookies, that data collection will also wait for your cookie consent.

Your rights (EU/EEA visitors)

Because we don't collect or store personal data on our own servers, there is nothing for us to hand over, correct, or delete on request. Any data processing tied to ads or affiliate clicks is handled by Google, Amazon, Newegg, and B&H Photo Video under their own privacy policies. You can withdraw cookie consent at any time by clearing this site's local storage in your browser settings.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

If our advertising or affiliate setup changes in a way that affects what's collected, this page will be updated and the "last updated" date above will change accordingly.
